Nick Voskakis, born in 1953 in Crete, spent his childhood years in Metaxochori before moving to Corinth. On October 1st, 1971, Nick arrived in Montreal as sailor, however, instead of returning to Greece, he made the to jump ship. He then settled in London, Ontario and later made headlines in a Canadian newspaper reporting his immigration experience. He worked while simultaneously pursuing his degree at Western University. Throughout the interview, Nick reminisces about his career as a teacher and his education. He also shares his experiences with exploitation at the hands of other Greeks in Canada, as well as his marriage to a Filipino woman.
