Michael Mikellides was born in Limassol, Cyprus in 1942. In this interview, he recalls memories from his youth of throwing stones at the British and being briefly imprisoned by them during the EOKA struggle. After serving in the Cypriot military, he migrated to Canada in 1966. A former Vice President of the Cypriot Brotherhood, he details how that group transformed into the Cypriot Community of Toronto as he was responsible for incorporating the latter organization. Michael also uses part of his interview to discuss the impeachment of a former President of the Cypriot Community of Toronto and the left/right political divide among the diaspora.
