Ahmet Ahmet was born in Toronto, Canada in 1973. His parents migrated to Canada earlier in the decade due to the intercommunal violence between Greek and Turkish Cypriots. Ahmet provides a Turkish Cypriot perspective on the events of 1974 that are often ignored in the mainstream discourse on the Cyprus issue.
