Stavros (Steve) Lovachis begins his interview by discussing how, during the Occupation, their village, Kranionas, suffered many hardships and destruction from the Germans as well as from the guerrillas during the Civil War. He describes the dramatic experiences of his father, who was forced to flee to Canada and returned after many years. The family faced many challenges and difficulties during the Occupation and the Civil War, but managed to survive and overcome the difficulties.
