Anastasia Chatziprodromou was born in the village of Ammochori, Florina, in 1930. Her parents were refugees from Asia Minor and settled in Greece in 1922 following the population exchange, suffering many hardships. During the Occupation, the family faced great difficulties, such as lack of food and clothing, but they managed to survive. Her mother played an important role in saving the village from the Germans. After the war, there were still differences and tensions between the villagers, but life gradually improved.
